Chuck Taylor sneakers from Converse Inc. launched a new campaign in Boston and nine other cities showcasing how theacrobabble-295x175 Chucks worn by creative types and regular customers became a medium for self-expression, reports The Boston Globe. “We felt it was a really great time to be celebrating the Chuck Taylor,” said Ian Stewart, VP, Global Marketing at Converse. “It’s something we haven’t done in a long time, if ever, at this scale.”

In its bid to bulk up following last year’s bankruptcy, sandwich chain Quiznos is tossing TV ads in favor of a mix of legacy and new media, assisted with the latter by TubeMogul. “Our advertising budget is kind of split between print media and digital, with a higher weight on digital advertising,” Tim Kraus, the director of interactive and innovation at Quiznos, told Entrepreneur. “Within that, probably our primary focus is on video.”

Aldera, a provider of core administration and private portal solutions for healthcare payers, hired Kim Rosengren as CMO. She most recently was VP, Marketing at Matrix Medical Network.

International Data Group named Josh London to the newly created position of CMO for IDG Communications. Previously, he was founder and managing partner of marketing/management consultancy Salt Island Ventures.

Small-business tech firm GoDaddy appointed Barb Rechterman Chief Customer Officer. Replacing her as CMO is Phil Bienert, who has been the company’s EVP of Digital Commerce for the past two years.
